The Three Graces

Three massive stone buildings with ornate domes and pillars line the waterfront, collectively known as the Three Graces. They served as the headquarters for the Royal Liver, Cunard, and Mersey Docks and Harbour companies during the early twentieth century. When the Liver Building rose in nineteen eleven, its twin clock towers were the largest in the country. Sailors coming into the Mersey River checked their watches against those clocks, trusting them as the final point of reference before leaving home behind.
