Grandmaster Recorders Events

The three arched windows facing the street belong to what was once a powerhouse of recorded music. This building housed Grandmaster Recorders, where Stevie Wonder tracked Songs in the Key of Life and David Bowie recorded Let's Dance. Before it became a studio, it was the Western Electric Company, a factory producing sound equipment for the early talkie film industry. The massive concrete walls were built specifically to keep the noise of Hollywood outside, ensuring the silence inside remained absolute for the engineers.
