Kite Hill

Kite Hill is a steep three-acre knob of land in the Eureka Valley that stands as a remnant of the city's natural, undeveloped topography. Long before it became a public park, the area was known to locals as Solari Hill, named for a ranching family that used the land for dairy cattle. Native Ohlone people once utilized this high ground for food production, employing controlled burns to manage the hillside vegetation.
