The entrance to Yik Oi Huang Peace and Friendship Park features a prominent mural of a woman holding a child, painted in vibrant shades of blue and gold. Yik Oi Huang spent thirty years working as a gardener in San Francisco public schools, tending to the grounds at nearby Visitacion Valley Middle School. After her death in two thousand nineteen, neighbors campaigned to name this lot for her, honoring her decades of daily labor in the community.
