Loose Wiles Building

The Loose Wiles Building stands out for its dark, rugged brick facade and the massive, oversized arched windows that span its lower levels. Built in nineteen thirteen, it served as a colossal bakery for the Loose Wiles Biscuit Company, once the primary competitor to the National Biscuit Company. Inside, the floors were designed to hold heavy machinery for baking thousands of tons of cookies and crackers, which were shipped across the Midwest by rail. Today, the scent of baking is long gone.
