Music Wall

historic

The Music Wall on Hennepin Avenue features a colorful, eighty-foot-tall mural of musical instruments and sound waves painted directly onto the brick facade. The project grew out of a city initiative to revitalize this downtown block, transforming a plain industrial wall into a vibrant public canvas. In two thousand twelve, artist Adam Turman covered the surface with these bold, stylized shapes. It remains one of the largest permanent public art pieces in the city, capturing the energy of the nearby theater district.
