The facade of Robert's Western World features a neon sign topped with a glowing guitar, hanging over a narrow storefront on Lower Broadway. Inside, the floorboards have taken on the dark, polished sheen of millions of boot steps, and the shelves are stocked with racks of Western shirts. Jesse Lee Jones opened the venue in nineteen ninety-two, specifically to keep the traditional honky-tonk sound alive while other stages shifted toward modern country radio hits. He still performs there with his band regularly.
