Victor Steinbrueck Park

The two towering totem poles and the sweeping, unobstructed view of Elliott Bay define Victor Steinbrueck Park. The land occupies the site of the old Moore Brothers feed store, demolished in the early nineteen sixties. Architect Victor Steinbrueck fought for years to keep this space open for the public rather than allowing it to become a private parking garage or office complex. His name remains on the signs because his persistent opposition preserved this narrow stretch of grass for the people of Seattle.
