Originally constructed in nineteen twenty-nine, the building, known as The Gazebo, functioned as a high-end apartment hotel for Sydney elites. Its circular balconies and streamlined design signaled the arrival of modernism in Elizabeth Bay. During the nineteen seventies, the ground floor housed the Gazebo Restaurant, where patrons dined while looking out over the harbor, cementing the structure as a local social hub.
