Hallstatt Lahn (Seelände)

The Lahn area of Hallstatt serves as a flat, paved extension of the lakeshore where the village finally finds room to breathe. While the historic center squeezes tight against the mountain, this section sits on reclaimed land, created to handle the overflow of workers and supplies. In nineteen fifty-two, the construction of the tunnel diverted heavy traffic away from the narrow village streets, shifting the town's primary pulse toward this open, gravel-lined stretch. It acts as the functional engine room for the residents.
