The storefront at number two on the Rue de la Mairie features a window display focused entirely on the necks and curled scrolls of violins. Guillaume Kessler crafts his instruments by hand in this quiet corner of the city. He spent years in Cremona, Italy, learning the traditional techniques of Italian masters before opening this workshop. Every instrument he completes begins as a raw block of spruce or maple, carved into shape over several months, until the wood produces a precise, balanced sound.
