The Pont du Faisan is a rotating footbridge in the Petite France district of Strasbourg. It features a steel frame that swings horizontally on a central pivot to let canal boats pass through the narrow waterway. In nineteen eighty-four, the city installed this motorized mechanism to replace a fixed bridge that blocked traffic on the Ill River. The bridge creates a bottleneck for pedestrians waiting for it to spin shut, a delay that often leaves tourists and locals huddled together until the path clears.
