Restaurant Maison Des Tanneurs - Gerwerstub

food drink

The Maison des Tanneurs features a prominent half-timbered facade draped in overflowing flower boxes, with a roofline that drops toward the water in a series of tiered attic levels. Built in fifteen seventy-two by the master tanner Jean Hirth, the structure provided space for drying hides in the ventilated upper stories while family lived below. It remained a workspace for the tanning guild for centuries, and today, guests dine on traditional Alsatian dishes where workers once scrubbed leather in the river currents.
