Middle School Mignet

The building on Rue Mignet features a long, high stone wall topped with classic Provençal roof tiles and a heavy wooden entrance gate. It serves as a public middle school, but the site was once the College Bourbon, founded in the early nineteenth century. During the German occupation in the nineteen forties, the Gestapo used these rooms for interrogations. Today, the quiet courtyard where students gather still retains the stone carvings and masonry from the building’s earlier, more turbulent lives.
