Musée Granet

The Musée Granet occupies the former Priory of the Knights of Malta, a structure recognizable by its austere, ochre-hued stone facade and the tall, arched windows overlooking the Place Saint-Jean-de-Malte. Its origins trace back to the seventeenth century, but the building gained its current name from the painter François-Marius Granet. He bequeathed his massive collection of art and archaeological finds to his hometown in eighteen forty-nine. These rooms house the works he gathered across a lifetime, alongside paintings by Cézanne and Ingres.
