Cirque Arlette Grus

cultural

The Cirque Arlette Gruss features a massive, white-and-red striped big top that towers over the Pelouse de Reuilly. Alexis Gruss founded the circus in nineteen eighty-five, naming it after his wife, Arlette. While many circuses rely on pre-recorded shows, this company travels with its own city of workshops, kitchens, and animal stables. During the nineteen nineties, Arlette insisted on integrating live, original music to accompany the acrobats and animal trainers, a tradition that distinguishes their performances from other troupes in France today.
