This sunken railway once circled central Paris to link the city’s major terminals for freight and passengers. After trains stopped running here in nineteen thirty-four, the line fell silent for decades. Nature claimed the gravel bed and sleepers, turning the industrial artery into a wild, green corridor hidden beneath the street level of the surrounding apartment blocks.
