The Piscine Molitor is defined by its bold yellow facade and the two stacked tiers of blue cabins that ring the pool deck like a ship. Opened in nineteen twenty-nine, this Art Deco complex was designed to mimic an ocean liner, complete with a winter ice rink and a summer swimming basin. Johnny Weissmuller, the Olympic gold medalist and film star, worked here as a lifeguard before his Hollywood career. Decades later, the site fell into decay, becoming a legendary space for illegal graffiti artists.
