Immeuble Molitor

The Immeuble Molitor stands out for its facade, which is composed almost entirely of glass bricks and floor-to-ceiling windows. Completed in nineteen thirty-four, this building was the first residential apartment block in the world to feature a glass curtain wall. Le Corbusier designed the structure, and he chose to live in the penthouse studio himself. He stayed here for thirty years, often hosting clients while his wife painted in the open-plan space beneath the vaulted, raw concrete ceiling.
