Villa Cook

The Villa Cook sits in a row of houses with a smooth, white facade and a distinct horizontal ribbon of windows running across the second floor. Le Corbusier designed this residence in nineteen twenty-six for an American journalist named William Cook. He built the structure on a narrow lot, using concrete pilotis to lift the living space above the ground. Inside, the garden terrace on the roof provides the only view of the sky from the interior, framing the light perfectly for the inhabitants.
