Place des Mousquetaires

The Place des Mousquetaires features a bronze statue of d'Artagnan, his sword drawn and cape blowing in the wind. This quiet square honors the fictional character created by Alexandre Dumas, who set much of his novel in the seventeenth-century city. While the Musketeers existed as a real royal guard, this plaza serves as a deliberate tribute to the swashbuckling heroes of literature. It remains a rare public space in Paris dedicated entirely to a figure who never walked these streets.
