Escaliers vestiges de la gare d'Auteuil - Boulogne

historic

The stone staircases standing at the edge of the street are the last pieces of the Gare d'Auteuil. Opened in eighteen fifty-four, the station served the Petite Ceinture, a circular railway line that once carried passengers around Paris. When the line stopped carrying people in nineteen thirty-four, the station building eventually fell to the wrecking ball. These stairs remain, once used by commuters climbing up from the platform to the street level, now leading to a dead end.
