Immeubles Agar

The Immeubles Agar features an undulating facade of white limestone carved into organic, flowing curves that mimic tree branches and vines. Designed by architect Hector Guimard in nineteen ten, this residential complex serves as a primary example of his mature Art Nouveau style. Guimard discarded the sharp corners of traditional Parisian masonry for these fluid, asymmetrical shapes. He even custom-designed the iron balcony railings and the brass door handles to match the stone patterns, treating the entire building as a single, cohesive sculpture.
