Promenade Cesária Évora Garden

A continuous, slightly elevated wooden deck stretches through this space, separating patches of wild grasses from the paved pathways. This garden serves as an urban connector, carved out to link the busy neighborhood streets with the railway tracks nearby. It bears the name of the Barefoot Diva, the Cape Verdean singer Cesaria Evora, who often performed without shoes as a nod to the poverty of her homeland. She died in twenty eleven, and the city named this pathway for her shortly after.
