The Jardin Christiane Desroches-Noblecourt centers on a circular lawn framed by curved, low-slung stone benches. It sits at the heart of the Place Rodin. Before it bore her name, the space served as a simple traffic island. Christiane Desroches-Noblecourt, the Egyptologist who organized the massive international campaign to save the Abu Simbel temples from the rising waters of the Nile in the nineteen sixties, lived in this neighborhood. She spent her final years here, surrounded by the quiet trees.
