Quai Louis-Blériot

Quai Louis-Blériot runs as a long, paved ribbon along the edge of the Seine, tucked beneath the shadow of the Boulevard Périphérique. It is named for the man who first flew across the English Channel in nineteen oh nine. Louis Blériot landed his monoplane on the cliffs near Dover, but he lived his life in these western reaches of Paris. He spent his final years here, watching the river traffic from a home that once stood where the concrete meets the water today.
