Square Roger-Coquoin

Square Roger Coquoin serves as a tribute to a central figure of the French Resistance during the Second World War. Roger Coquoin was a chemist by profession who directed a laboratory at the Paris Academy of Medicine before dedicating his life to fighting the Nazi occupation. He rose to lead the resistance movement known as Ceux de la Libération and played a key role in the formation of the National Council of the Resistance. His commitment to the cause ended in December nineteen forty three, when he was killed by gunfire after being lured into a trap in Paris. This quiet green space stands in his honor, marking the legacy of a man who transitioned from scientific research to clandestine leadership in the struggle for liberation.
