The mural featuring a group of men in flat caps and period coats marks the corner of Rue des Pyrénées and Rue de Ménilmontant. It recreates a scene from the nineteen thirty-five film C’est nous les gars d’Ménilmontant, which captured the working-class spirit of this hillside neighborhood. Residents commissioned the painting to preserve the memory of the film's actors and the local identity of the twentieth arrondissement. It remains a permanent portrait of a world that existed here long before the modern facades arrived.
