Pershing Hall

Pershing Hall features a limestone facade topped by a mansard roof and a heavy, carved wooden door that once marked the headquarters of the American Legion in Paris. Built as a private residence in eighteen fifty-eight, the building became a memorial to American soldiers who fought in the Great War. General John Pershing himself inaugurated the building in nineteen twenty-two. He stood at the threshold, dedicating the space to the memory of his troops while veterans gathered to remember their time in France.
