Northernmost Point of Paris

The northernmost point of Paris is marked by a simple, unassuming plaque set into the concrete near the intersection of the Rue de la Commune de Paris and the Rue de la Haie Coq. It sits on the edge of the Saint-Denis canal, separating the city from Aubervilliers. In eighteen sixty, the city boundaries shifted outward to encompass this industrial territory. Before that adjustment, the border stopped well short of this spot, leaving this patch of land technically outside the capital.
