Palais Prinz Carl

The Palais Prinz Carl features a pale, mustard yellow facade punctuated by white framed windows and a heavy, arched stone portal. Originally built as a private residence in the early eighteenth century, it eventually became one of the grandest hotels in Heidelberg. Prince Carl of Baden stayed here during his visits, lending the building its name. In the mid-nineteenth century, it hosted members of the Prussian royal family and international dignitaries who came to experience the romantic atmosphere of the city.
