Pusteblumenbrunnen Prager Straße

The Pusteblumenbrunnen consists of a large, skeletal metal sphere reaching into the air, its spindly rods topped with glowing lights that resemble the seeds of a dandelion clock. Designed by Leoni Wirth in nineteen sixty-nine, the fountain sits on a stone base that channels water down a series of stepped, curved basins. It arrived in Dresden as part of a modernist plan for the Prager Strasse pedestrian zone, intended to bring abstract sculpture into the daily lives of residents moving through the city.
