National Historical Museum - Old Parliament House

The Old Parliament House sits on Stadiou Street, recognized by the tall bronze statue of Theodoros Kolokotronis standing with his hand outstretched toward the neoclassical facade. This building served as the seat of the Hellenic Parliament for sixty years starting in eighteen seventy-five. Inside the main chamber, King George the First once opened the legislative sessions. When the parliament moved to its current home in nineteen thirty-five, the building transitioned into a museum, housing historical artifacts from the Greek War of Independence.
