National Museum of Contemporary Art Αthens (ΕΜΣΤ)

The National Museum of Contemporary Art occupies the former Fix Brewery, a massive concrete skeleton defined by its long, horizontal ribbon windows that stretch across the facade. Before it became a gallery for global art, the building functioned as a landmark of industrial production, churning out the country’s most popular beer for decades. Architects Takis Zenetos and Margaritis Apostolidis designed the structure to follow the rhythm of the passing trains, intending for the architecture itself to capture the sensation of movement and speed.
