The Sitaram Sitaria Musical House sits in the narrow lanes of Piplani Katra behind an unassuming facade painted in fading colors. Behind its heavy wooden door, the shop holds generations of stringed instruments, primarily the sitar, crafted by the same family for over a century. Sitaram, the founder, established this workshop to serve the classical musicians who traveled through Varanasi for performances or religious practice. Today, the space remains filled with raw teak wood, dried gourds, and half-finished bridges waiting for a craftsman.
