Jalasen Ghat features a small, unassuming shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva situated directly at the water level. While nearby ghats handle massive crowds for cremations, Jalasen serves as a quieter transition point where pilgrims pause before moving toward the burning grounds. Legend says the sage Jalasen performed intense penance here, eventually drawing the goddess Ganga to bless the rocky bank. Today, the narrow stone stairs often remain submerged during the monsoon season, leaving only the peak of the shrine visible above the river.
