Kedar Ghat features a distinctive set of steep, striped stone steps and a vibrant red and white facade. It is one of the oldest ghats in Varanasi, serving as a dedicated center for pilgrims from South India, specifically the followers of Shiva. Legend says a devotee who could not travel to Kedarnath in the Himalayas prayed for the deity to come to him. Shiva appeared here instead, and the local temple holds that same spiritual weight for those who make the journey.
