Pandey Ghat is marked by the tall, carved stone pillars that frame its steep river access, distinct from the neighboring stone steps along the Ganges. Established by a wrestler named Babu Pandey, the ghat was once the primary training ground for local bodybuilders who practiced in the riverside akhara. While many ghats served pilgrims coming for ritual baths, this one focused on the physical discipline of the wrestlers who maintained the site, balancing spiritual devotion with the heavy, daily labor of their sport.
