Mikvah Batei Rand

The Mikvah Batei Rand features a heavy, arched stone entryway tucked into the dense, narrow lanes of the Nahlaot neighborhood. It was established in the late nineteenth century as part of the Batei Rand housing complex, built for impoverished families arriving from Eastern Europe. Yisrael Rand, a wealthy merchant, funded these apartments to provide stable living conditions for the poor. The ritual bath served the immediate needs of this community, allowing residents to maintain religious practices despite their extreme financial hardship.
