The Zohorei Chama Synagogue features a massive clock face embedded directly into its stone facade, once intended to synchronize prayer times for the neighborhood. Built in nineteen oh six by Rabbi Shmuel Levy, the structure stands as a center for the community in Nahlaot. Levy originally designed the building with five stories to serve as an inn for travelers, but the city authorities forbade a building of that height at the time. The top floor remains unfinished, a reminder of that regulatory dispute.
