Tenjin Business Center

other

The Tenjin Business Center stands out because of its sweeping, curved glass facade that ripples like a wave against the Fukuoka skyline. Designed by architect Shohei Shigematsu of the firm OMA, the building replaces a block of older, mid-century shops. Developers wanted to anchor the city’s massive redevelopment project, aiming to attract global companies to the region. Workers uncovered ancient pottery shards from the Muromachi period during the excavation, forcing a pause while archaeologists documented the site before construction finished in twenty twenty-one.
