Fukuoka Red Brick Culture Museum

landmark

The Fukuoka Red Brick Culture Museum features a distinct facade of alternating red brick and white granite bands, topped with a steep, green copper roof. Tatsuno Kingo, the architect who also designed Tokyo Station, modeled the building on the Queen Anne style popular in late nineteenth century England. Business meetings once took place in rooms where original fireplaces and ornate, carved wooden stairs remain.
