Kihinkan Hall

The Kihinkan Hall stands out with its French Renaissance style, characterized by a steep mansard roof and symmetrical wings covered in dark green copper shingles. Built in nineteen ten, this building served as a grand reception hall for the Kyushu-Okinawa Commemorative Exposition. Its most memorable moment occurred in nineteen eleven, when it hosted the Meiji Emperor during his visit to the city. The hall functioned as a government office for years before the city restored it to preserve its western architecture.
