The Haruyoshi Bridge carries a distinctive, arched steel frame that stands out against the low-lying waters of the Naka River. Originally constructed in nineteen twenty-six to connect the bustling Tenjin district with the entertainment quarters, it served as a vital artery for the streetcars that once rattled across its deck. During the reconstruction in the nineteen nineties, planners kept the bridge’s original signature arch, preserving a silhouette that residents have used to navigate this section of Fukuoka for nearly a century.
