It opened in nineteen sixty-seven, a time when Kyoto was filling with sleek, modern cafes, but Rokuyosha stayed committed to a dim, quiet atmosphere. People come here for the handmade doughnuts and the house-roasted coffee, which the owner brews using a flannel drip method. The smoke-stained walls hold decades of conversation, and the original counter remains the center of the room.
