Kijk-Kubus Museum-house

The Kijk-Kubus is a bright yellow cube tilted forty-five degrees on top of a concrete pillar. Architect Piet Blom designed these structures in the nineteen seventies to resemble a forest, where each cube acts as a tree. The interior walls lean at severe angles, creating spaces where standing upright is a constant negotiation. One resident famously spent years figuring out how to fit a standard wardrobe against a wall that slopes inward, eventually building custom furniture to match the awkward geometry of the floor.
