St. Anne's Church

The facade of Saint Anne’s Church ripples outward in a wave of white stucco, a distinct piece of late Baroque architecture that survives in a city flattened by war. Built in the mid fifteenth century for the Bernardine monks, the church became a central point for Warsaw’s religious life. During the Warsaw Uprising in nineteen forty-four, the building miraculously escaped total destruction. The interior frescoes and gilded altars remain, marking this church as a rare, authentic anchor for a city rebuilt from ruins.
