Casa do Cabido. Sala de Exposicións

The Casa do Cabido features a narrow, wedge-shaped stone facade that projects toward the center of Praza das Praterias. Built in seventeen fifty-eight by the architect Clemente Fernandez Sarela, this building served as a storage and administrative space for the Cathedral canons. Its design broke with the surrounding medieval layout, aiming to provide a grander, unified face to the square. Sarela added ornate carvings and sweeping curves to the granite, a style that local authorities of the time intensely disliked.
