Pazo de Vaamonde

The Pazo de Vaamonde stands out with its sober granite facade and a prominent coat of arms carved directly above the main entrance. Built in the eighteenth century, this residence served as the home for the noble Vaamonde family. It represents the classic defensive architecture adapted for urban life, featuring sturdy stone masonry that has endured centuries of Galician weather. Today, the building houses the offices for the Consorcio de Santiago, which oversees the ongoing preservation efforts for the historic center of the city.
