The Peveril of the Peak

The Peveril of the Peak wears a coat of glazed green and yellow tiles that shine even on the gloomiest Manchester afternoons. This corner building serves as a public house, named after a nineteenth century stagecoach route that ran between Manchester and London. Before the tiles were added in the nineteen twenties, the site operated as a place to board local workers. A piano remains inside, and the bar layout retains a Victorian partition that separates the space into distinct drinking rooms.
